Red Bull New York announced its 2027 Major League Soccer Sprint Season schedule, a compressed 14-match regular season that kicks off on the road against D.C. United on Sunday, February 21, as newyorkredbulls.com reported.
A Compressed Calendar and Opening Slate
The 14-match Sprint Season officially launches Major League Soccer’s transition to a new summer-to-spring calendar format. Under this alignment, every club plays each of its 14 Eastern Conference opponents precisely once, split evenly with seven fixtures at home and seven away. Most matches throughout the Sprint Season will kick off at 7:00 PM ET.
The opening road fixture at D.C. United gets underway at 1:00 PM ET on February 21. Following that trip, Red Bull New York returns home for its home opener on Saturday, February 27, hosting the reigning Supporters’ Shield winners Nashville SC at Sports Illustrated Stadium with a 2:00 PM ET kickoff.
Home Fixtures and Theme Nights in Harrison
The early-season home stand continues on Sunday, March 7, when Atlanta United visits Sports Illustrated Stadium at 2:00 PM ET. Orlando City SC travels to Harrison on Saturday, March 20, followed by a matchup against FC Cincinnati on Saturday, March 27, designated as Hometown Heroes Night.
CF Montréal visits Sports Illustrated Stadium on Wednesday, April 7, marking the club’s only midweek home match of the Sprint Season. Later in April, Chicago Fire FC arrives on Saturday, April 24, for Autism Acceptance Night. The regular-season home slate concludes on Saturday, May 1, against the New England Revolution for the Wings for Life match, featuring post-match fireworks and a 7:00 PM ET start.
Away Dates and Decision Day Finale
Beyond the opening match in Washington, the road schedule features a trip to Inter Miami CF on Saturday, March 13. Red Bull New York then visits Charlotte FC on April 3, Toronto FC on April 10, and Columbus Crew on April 17.
A midweek away fixture takes the squad to the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday, April 21. The regular season wraps up on Decision Day on Saturday, May 8, with a rivalry match away against New York City FC kicking off at 5:00 PM ET.
Playoffs, Broadcasts, and Ticketing
At the conclusion of the 14-match schedule, the top eight teams in each conference qualify for the Audi 2027 MLS Cup Playoffs. This single-elimination bracket leads directly to the MLS Cup presented by Audi on Memorial Day Weekend, with every postseason match hosted by the club holding the higher Supporters’ Shield finish. Additionally, results from the Sprint Season determine qualification for both the 2028 Concacaf Champions Cup and the 2028 Leagues Cup.
Single-match tickets are currently available through RedBullNewYork.com and SITickets.com, alongside group and premium hospitality packages. Full-season ticket holders receive an included Apple TV subscription, through which every regular-season match is broadcast alongside studio programming and on-demand content.
