“Reduce Your Risk of Alzheimer’s with This Simple Breathing Technique: Study Finds Promising Results”

At Alzheimer-Sick people have ONE major abnormality: Proteins of the beta-amyloid type have been deposited in their brains. There is evidence that it is this substance that triggers Alzheimer’s.

US researchers have now discovered that the amount of protein in the body can be reduced with a simple breathing trick! This also means that you could massively reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s yourself.

▶︎ The promising breathing exercise works like this: inhale for five seconds and exhale for just as long. Repeat for 20 minutes – twice a day!

Scientists at the University of Southern California’s Leonard Davis School of Gerontology discovered that four weeks of exercise had a major impact on the amount of Alzheimer’s protein in the blood.

In the Study 108 people participated. During the exercises, they were hooked up to a heart monitor. It was shown that the breathing technique increased heart rate variability. And that caused the levels of the Alzheimer’s protein to drop.

The research team explained that the study provides what is probably the “first evidence” of lower amyloid beta levels as a result of behavioral changes. So far it is unclear whether the breathing technique actually causes less Alzheimer’s protein to settle in the brain. The scientists only examined the blood values.

Another message of hope

Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical industry continues to research drugs against Alzheimer’s. The US company Eli Lilly announced a breakthrough on Wednesday.

The antibody donanemab reduced cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s patients by 35 percent in a closely watched clinical trial, according to results released Wednesday.

After one year, 47 percent of the participants had no progression of the disease – compared to 29 percent of the participants who received a placebo.

After the US approval of the Alzheimer’s drug Leqembi by the companies Biogen and Eisai at the beginning of the year, the data raise hopes for a second treatment against the disease. Eli Lilly’s drug achieved all study goals in the study, as the company announced. He now wants to apply for approval in the USA by the end of June, with other countries to follow.
