Researchers at New York University’s Institute for Social and Behavioral Sciences have published a new study. According to this, regular surfing on the Internet should significantly reduce the risk of developing dementia – by 43 percent. The study results were published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.

The study tracked the cognitive health of over 18,000 people who had not yet had any signs of the disease. The subjects were 50 years old or older. The study lasted between 8 and 17 years.

Adults who surfed the internet for up to 2 hours a day had the lowest risk of developing dementia. People who are never online or not online for two hours have a higher chance of developing it.
