Rehab Gomaa, player of the French handball team Palente Besançon, launched an attack after she was excluded from the list of Egypt’s women’s team participating in the African Women’s Handball Championship, which will be held in Senegal on November 9.
And Rehab Gomaa wrote through her personal account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “The Handball Federation is destroying my dream and depriving me of the honor of representing the Egyptian national team.”
And she added, “The Handball Federation decided, without any preconditions, to exclude the female professionals from participating in the African Women’s Handball Championship (first team), which will be held in Senegal on November 9.”
And she continued, “10 years of struggle, patience and squabbling abroad between Denmark, France and Algeria. We appeal to the Handball Federation to form a first women’s team, and as soon as the formation of the team is announced, the female professionals are excluded. Why? And for whom?”
And she continued: “During 10 years, I gained accumulated experience in all European stadiums, scored hundreds of goals, and worked exceptional seasons in the stadiums of France, Denmark and Algeria.
She continued: “Since the announcement of the formation of a women’s team, I waited weeks for any official in the Handball Federation to contact us, and I sold to the technical director, Captain Rami Abdel Latif – my former coach in Al-Ahly and knows my level – a thousand congratulations and I wished him success, he saw my message and ignored the response. He may also be busy, and then I sent him a message asking about the position of the professional women, because the league in France will stop during the African Nations Championship as well as the European Nations, and therefore I have no commitment with my team and are ready to receive the honor of representing the Egyptian national team.
And she continued: “I sent a message to Captain Ayman Salah, the national team manager, and called him several times, and despite that, he ignored all the calls and messages he sent to him. Is there a match to see my level? There is no official in the Handball Federation or a coach who asked me what positions you are good at playing on the field, and I know many details and it is silent and I do not want to disclose them.”
She explained: “10 years in which I have suffered from alienation, refraction, patience and slander. She appealed dozens of times to the necessity of forming a first women’s team, and after its formation, they said, “We do not want professional women.”
She pointed out: “For days I have been crying alone. Do you know why? Because I have professionals from Morocco, Congo and Senegal who were summoned from the federations of their countries. Do you know the oppression, sadness and pain inside me, years of patience, forgiveness, pain, pain, fracture and success until I gain experiences and be a distinguished player capable of Having the honor of representing the Egyptian national team, my journey was difficult, and I was very, very tired until I reached professionalism in Europe.” Z
He added: “You break my dream and the dream of every girl who started her life from scratch until she honors her country and plays in the name of the Egypt national team. An Egyptian girl from Upper Egypt who started her life from youth centers until she reached the world is excluded from the Handball Federation for unknown reasons.”
And she concluded: “We have a good one, God, guys, but the problem is with us, by God, no matter what you do, I never hate my country. I love the soil of my country. God suffices and yes, the agent in every person, official or coach broke my dream. Our Lord is greater than all, and the great Egyptian audience remains the bond.” He is the first supporter. They denied me the honor of wearing the T-shirt of the Egyptian national team. They prevented me from trying to make Egyptians happy, who would enjoy any moment of joy in their sons and daughters.
