A fire broke out on Tuesday shortly before 8 p.m. in the chemical company Nouryon (ex-Akzo Nobel) in Ghlin, near Mons, said the provincial authorities of Hainaut. The accident caused one minor injury. The fire broke out in empty drums, including chemical packaging waste.
The provincial authorities indicated that, according to the Hainaut-Centre rescue zone, the fire was brought under control shortly before 9 p.m. The fumes, which were visible from afar, are not dangerous for the population.
