On January 23, local time, Apple began distributing the official version of iOS 16.3 to general users. iPhones compatible with this OS can be updated.
Official version “iOS 16.3” is now available for general users
“iOS 16.3” adds support for the recently announced HomePod (2nd generation) features, as well as a Unity wallpaper commemorating Black History Month. In addition, the addition of a login function to the Apple ID using a physical security key and operation changes to prevent unintended emergency calls with emergency SOS are announced.

This update includes the following enhancements and bug fixes:
• New Unity wallpapers celebrating black history and culture in honor of Black History Month
• Advanced data protection for iCloud expands the categories of iCloud data protected by end-to-end encryption to a total of 23 categories, including iCloud backups, notes and photos, even in the event of a data breach in the cloud. Information can be protected
• Use a security key for your Apple ID to increase account security by requiring a physical security key when signing in with two-factor authentication on new devices.
• Compatible with HomePod (2nd generation)
• In order to prevent unintended emergency calls with Emergency SOS, it is necessary to press and hold the side button and either the up or down volume button and release it.
• Fixed an issue where brush strokes drawn with Apple Pencil or fingers in Freeboard would sometimes not appear in Shared board.
• Addressed an issue where the lock screen wallpaper would sometimes turn black
• Fixed an issue where horizontal lines could appear momentarily while waking the iPhone 14 Pro Max
• Fixed an issue where the Home app status was not accurately displayed in the Home lock screen widget
• Addresses an issue where Siri would sometimes not respond correctly to music requests
• Resolves an issue where CarPlay requests to Siri may not be recognized correctly
