Remco Evenepoel has put an end to rumors sending him to Ineos-Grenadiers. He announced on social networks that he would respect his contract valid until 2026 with Soudal-Quick Step.
“I have a contract until the end of 2026 and I will respect it. A contract is a contract. You can’t just walk away saying, I wish you the best and goodbye. That one is not to be done. The world of cycling is not the world of football“, he said in the Red Lantern podcast.

In recent weeks, rumors of a departure to the British formation Ineos, with more resources than the Belgian team, have been more and more insistent. The runner’s father, Patrick Evenepoel, had himself indicated “not to be sure” that his son would “still be at Quick Step next year”.
Evenepoel (23), online world champion in 2022 and time trial champion this year, should compete in his first Tour de France next year. Its objective will be to compete with the double winners of the Grande Boucle Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard.
