Do you want to travel to Panama? The National Immigration Service has recalled the requirements for the entry of tourists to the country.
Since last September, travelers arriving in Panama must present financial solvency of $1000.00 USD, doubling the previous amount of $500.00 USD.
These changes are part of a series of government measures aimed at reducing migration and illegal crossing through the Darien Forest.
Panama Entry Requirements 2024
According to information official provided, tourists must present the following documents when entering Panama:
- Original passport or travel document, valid for a minimum of 3 months.
- Approve the interview conducted by the immigration inspector.
- Proof of economic solvency for your maintenance and support according to the term of stay in the country, which cannot be less than one thousand balboas (B/. 1,000.00).
- Proven reservation for leaving the country, within the established period.
- If the country of origin requires a visa to enter Panama, the tourist must have it.
It is important to highlight that all security requirements established in the Immigration Law must be met.
TRAVEL TO PANAMA AS A TOURIST in 2024
From the Tocumen airport in Panama, they also outline the requirements that tourists must accredit, although they maintain the previous required solvency figure:
- Tourist visa, authorized as the case may be.
- Ticket or return trip to the country of origin or continuation of the trip.
- Economic solvency.
- Passport or travel document valid for at least 6 months, on the date of obtaining the visa.
- In some cases, the Immigration inspector may request the payment voucher from the hotel where you will stay.
Likewise, they clarify that if the person belongs to a country that can enter Panama, with a stamped visa, this means that the foreigner has two options: ·
- Apply for the visa at the Panamanian consulate and you will be able to enter Panama with the visa already stamped in your passport.
- If the person belongs to a country that is classified as visa only, they have no option, to enter Panama they must previously request that the visa be stamped at the Panamanian Consulate.
