Research on endocrine disruptors

Research, published this Friday, has shown that certain plastic derivatives can increase the risk of endocrine disruptors, which can sometimes cause miscarriages and premature births.

At the microphone of Bernard Drainville, researcher in environmental toxicology at INRS and author of the study, Isabelle Plante, explained that these complications harming the endocrine system might occur in particular following the use of cosmetics, the consumption of plastic bottles or even certain drugs.

She also says that this problem might be worrying for pregnant women, but that there was no reason to panic.
