Reviving Traditional Medicine and Herb Use for Physical, Emotional, and Mental Health: The Second Medicine Meeting in Atlatlahucan

Rescuing traditional medicine and promoting the use of herbs to take care of physical, emotional and mental health is the objective of the second medicine meeting, in the municipality of Atlatlahucan.

On July 8, starting at 10:00 a.m. in the municipal seat, this meeting will be held, organized by a group of artisans headed by Francisco Barrera, and the participation of the chronicler Eramos Toledano.

For her part, President Alma Delia Reyes Linares shared that the entity’s population has grown with uses and customs of alternative medicine, and it is a knowledge that must endure in the new generations.

“Traditional medicine has been forgotten, it is something that many of us grew up with and it can be an alternative to alleviate a physical, mental or even soul ailment, we want this day to connect with nature and that people can recharge their energies with people who know and know very well about these issues,” he said.

Among the activities there will be energy cleansing, energy ritual, sale of natural products, relaxing massages, as well as therapies and consultations.

Other scheduled activities are:

12:00 noon: pre-Hispanic ritual 1:00 p.m.: pre-Hispanic music concert 2:00 p.m.: gastronomic exhibition 3:00 p.m.: physical activation 4:00 p.m.: mass yoga class 4:30 p.m.: herbalist workshop.

Around 20 stands will participate in the activities, among them there will be midwives, bonesetters, acupuncture professionals, and guests from Cuautla, Tlayacapan, Totolapan, Jantetelco and even a group of midwives from the Nepantla community in the State of Mexico.
