Riyadh: Royal Focus Line won the title in the 32-team Mega Cup sevens football tournament of the Riyadh Indian Football Association. Youth India won by two one-sided goals. Hundreds of people came to Askan Stadium in Riyadh.
Royal Focus Line and Youth India Soccer qualified for Kalashapa from 32 teams with more than 300 players. Saudi Umpiring Association members Ali Qahtani and Mohammad Saeed were the chief guests at the final. RIFA office bearers Basheer Chelembra, Saifu Karulai, Abdul Karim Payyanad and Shakeel Thirurkad got to know the players. Fawaz Youth scored the first goal against India in the second half in the final of the match which was held in the presence of hundreds of Malayali sevens football fans.
With this, Royal Focus Line won the Tanmia Rifa Mega Cup after a four-day competition. Ali Qahtani and Tanmia representative Mustafa Kawwai received the team winners trophy. Youth India bagged the runner-up title from guests Muhammad Saeed and Mubashir.
Shameer of Royal Focus was named Player of the Tournament. This team was also selected as the best keeper on Facebook. Fawaz of Youth India is the top scorer of the tournament with two hat-tricks. Azizia Soccer’s Abbas was also selected as the best defender. Kutan Babu Mancheri, Junais Vazhakad, Mustafa Mampat, Naushad Chakala, Hamza Aziziya, Nawaz Sulai, Hasan Punnayur, Nasser Mavoor, Ahfan and Sharafuddin Pannikode led the competitions.
