This Tuesday, August 15 at the start of the afternoon, a truck lost a large quantity of oil on the RN 58 – boulevard des Alliés. Following this incident, the roadway was made particularly slippery. Attempts to clean up by firefighters did not remove all of the fatty liquid. A specialized company is now expected on site for a complete cleaning of the roads.
Until the end of the operations, motorists are asked to avoid driving on the RN 58 in the Dottignies-Mouscron direction as much as possible. Mouscron police teams are present on site to supervise and secure travel. Coming from Dottignies, the particularly critical points are at the roundabouts, which are closed to traffic.
Near Futurosport, a diversion route has been set up via Rue de la Rouge-Croix and Drève des Préaches, to return to the RN 58 after the restaurant “La Chaumière de l’E3”.
At the roundabout called “despools”, a detour is in effect via rue de la Bassée and boulevard Industriel.
In the other direction of traffic Mouscron-Dottignies, as well as on the Laine road, which was also soiled, the disturbances are less. However, motorists are asked to exercise the greatest caution and to respect the orders of the police officers supervising traffic.
