american actor Robert DeNiro arrived in Argentina for her participation in the filming of Anythingthe series of Mariano Cohn and Gaston Duprat starring Louis Brandoni which can be seen next year on Star+. Images emerged in which both actors can be seen together with the series team touring possible locations in the city, such as the National Museum of Fine Arts on Avenida del Libertador at 1400.
The recordings of the series began on Monday, April 25, in different Buenos Aires scenarios. De Niro’s character will be a foreign friend that Brandoni will play, in a bond that somehow emulates the one that unites the two actors in reality. It is that as Brandoni publicly recounted in recent days, their friendship relationship was born more than 30 years ago at the request of mutual acquaintance with Lito Cruz and it has been for many years.
For De Niro it will be the second experience filming in Argentina, after in the ’80s he was for The mission. The New Yorker, a great performer of titles like Taxi Driver, Wild bull, The Godfather y cape of fearwill join the recordings in the coming days in a role that, although not the main role, will appear in different scenes of Anything.
De Niro’s work with the Cohn-Duprat duo will mark a new collaboration between the filmmakers of the distinguished citizen with leading international figures, after the recent official competition with Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas. Anything will be one five-episode comedy-drama centered on Manuel (Brandoni), a gastronomic critic and referent of Buenos Aires culture who suffers a personal crisis due to the death of the maid he had for 40 years.
With no ability to fend for himself around the house, and financially crippled after squandering his money, the entry of a new, younger employee into his household will mean – an aspect that Cohn and Duprat have explored in several of their previous titles – a clash both generational and cultural.
Some of the confirmed cast members are Daniel Araoz, Gaston Cocchiarale y Enrique Pineyrowhile it is also expected that William Francella have a stake. The screenplay was written by Cohn, Duprat and Immanuel Tenwhile the production also has the culinary advice of the chefs Francis Mallmann y Narda Lepes.
