O ROG Phone 8 da ASUS is getting closer to being officially presented by the brand. Even though she hasn’t revealed the device yet, it has already been confirmed that it exists and in addition to knowing when it will be announced, we can also get a sense of its main features.
So far, the manufacturer has revealed small previews of the line’s technical specifications. This time, one of the new features shown is the fact that the devices have IP68 certificationwhich guarantees protection against water and dust, something that is already present in most high-end cell phones sold today.

Unlike cameras with OIS, which will once again be one of the models’ attributes, IP68 certification is something new. However, it is possible that the devices arrive with a small downgrade compared to previous generations: the lack of Stereo speakers. Furthermore, it must be launched with the most advanced technologies available on the market.
This includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, accompanied by variants with up to 24GB of RAM and internal storage with capacities starting at 256GB and going up to 1TB. The screen, in turn, must be 6.78 inches with FHD+ resolution and support a 120 Hz refresh rate.
As previously reported, the models should be officially presented by ASUS on January 8, 2024, during CES 2024, a technology event that will take place in Las Vegas. Therefore, details regarding availability and pricing are expected to be presented during the event next month.
