Russia, Ukraine must exercise restraint to avoid escalation: Oman Foreign Minister

Oman’s Foreign Minister Syed Badr al-Busaydi has called for restraint in preventing Russia-Ukraine tensions from escalating. He made the remarks at a joint news conference with visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Oman’s Foreign Minister called on all parties to work together to resolve differences amicably.

Oman will support all efforts to make the talks on Iran’s nuclear issue a success. Oman’s Foreign Minister Syed Badr al – Busaydi said an agreement on a double tax waiver and an agreement to waive travel visas for Omani and Russian nationals would be signed soon. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has praised Oman’s peace efforts.

The two sides also agreed to expand visas for citizens of both countries and to expand cooperation, including cooperation agreements between the Russian Museum and the National Museum of Oman. Sergei Lavrov also met with the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq. During a meeting at the Al Barakah Palace, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq called for a diplomatic and political solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
