Russian striker “Vegas Golden Knights” Ivan Barbashev became the third star of the game of the day in the NHL, reported on the league website.
Barbashev, who became a Vegas player on February 26, scored two goals in the last match with the Montreal Canadiens (4: 3), including the winning one.
In total, the 27-year-old Russian has two goals and three assists in four matches for the new club.
Ovechkin is the 16th all-time leading scorer in NHL history.
The first and second stars of the day were Carolina Hurricanes players Teuvo Teräväinen and Jesperi Kotkaniemi, respectively. Teräväinen scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, while Kotkaniemi scored a goal and made four assists.
On the night of March 7, the NHL will host six games. Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin will play away with the Los Angeles Kings.
