Ryzen 7000X3D: AMD names prices and availability

After the presentation at the beginning of the year, AMD has now announced both the date and the prices for the Ryzen 7000 X3D processors. According to this, the top model with a total of 16 cores, eight of which should benefit directly from the additional cache, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D will be available from February 28th and cost 699 US dollars. The 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X3D will also be available on February 28th and will cost $599. A little later, from April 6th, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will follow as a direct successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D (Test) and goes for 449 US dollars over the presumably mainly virtual shop counter.

AMD has not yet announced any euro prices. However, considering the differences between the US RRPs and the euro prices so far, one can assume that the euro prices will be slightly higher than the dollar prices.

The four X models of the We already looked at the Ryzen 7000 series at the start. With the Ryzen 9 7900 (Test) also a first 65 W model. The rest of these variants will be available to us in the coming days so that we can hopefully get a complete picture by the end of February or beginning of April.

On the one hand, it will be interesting to see whether and to what extent AMD can hold its own against Intel’s K models in games. In detail, however, the handling of the scheduler is even more exciting, because in the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D models only one of the two CCDs has the additional SRAM. In order for the games to benefit from the additional cache, however, they should be run on the cores of the CCD with this very cache.

Overclocking the Ryzen 7000X3D processors will also be an interesting aspect. PBO 2 and the Curve Optimizer should be available for these models:

“Ryzen 7000X3D Series processors are unlocked for memory and infinity fabric overclocking, just like Ryzen 5800X3D. New to the 7000X3D, we have also added PBO and Curve Optimizer capabilities.”

We will know more at the end of February. Then hopefully with a first test of the two models that will be available from that point on.
