Despite the difficult conditions that the health sector in Lebanon suffers from, Saint Joseph Hospital – Raymond and Aida Najjar Medical Center, which is affiliated with the Sisters of the Cross Society, continues to maintain the quality of health services, and works to develop its scientific and academic status.
In this context, the General President of the Sisters of the Cross, Mother Mary Makhlouf, signed an agreement to develop cooperation between the hospital and Saint Joseph University, represented by the university president, Father Professor Salim Daccache.
The president of the hospital, Sister Nadia Andraos, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Roland Tanb, participated in the signing.
The signing was attended by: Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Elie Nemer, Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Jean Biagini, Chairman of the Quality Committee, Professor Pierre Sarkis, in addition to the Sisters of the Cross and a number of medical, nursing and administrative personnel.
The Director of Hotel Dieu Hospital, Mr. Nassib Nasr, was also present.
The agreement provided for giving the title of the university hospital to St. Joseph Hospital (HOPITAL UNIVERSITAIRE), after it was a teaching hospital years ago (AFFILIEE).
The words emphasized that this agreement represents an important step in the joint commitment to the health and well-being of the Lebanese people, and the responsibility to meet the medical needs of everyone who visits this hospital, regardless of their origin, religion, and social and economic status.
This agreement between the hospital and the university will reflect more communication and exchange and work to stimulate continuous cooperation between doctors and researchers at the hospital and professors and students at the university.
This agreement will further develop practical training, improve the level of health care, provide the best medical services to the community, and enable promising youth to obtain distinguished education and promising professional opportunities, to constitute a sign of hope in the darkness of this world, to complete the mission of the founder of the Sisters of the Blessed Cross, Abouna Yacoub al-Kabushi, with love and mercy. .
