Salary limit for granting family visa may be raised in Kuwait

It is hinted that Kuwait will move to raise the salary limit for granting family visa. Al Anba newspaper reported that the Ministry of Interior is considering raising the salary limit for family visa applicants from the existing 500 Kuwaiti dinars to 800.

According to the new proposal, a basic salary of at least 800 dinars will be required to apply for a dependent visa. The original work permit should be submitted along with the visa form. Indications are that the new system for allocating visas will be implemented soon.

The new move is part of controlling population imbalance in the country. With this, only high-paid foreigners can bring their families. There are indications that the new decision will also apply to those who recently entered the country on family visas. Meanwhile, there are reports that no changes have been made in the terms and conditions for granting visit visas.
