Hundreds of thousands of Argentinians took to the streets of Buenos Aires on Sunday to celebrate their national team’s victory in the World Cup final in Qatar against the French team.
After a 3-3 draw after extra time, the Albiceleste, led by star Lionel Messi, beat the Blues on penalties 4-2.

Carrying flags or jerseys in the blue and white colors of the national team, the Argentines invaded the center of Buenos Aires a few minutes after the victory marked by a brace from Lionel Messi. Scenes of jubilation also take place across the rest of the country.
A burst of joy, releasing 36 years of interminable waiting since the last world title in 1986.
“Soooy Argentino, es un sentimiento, no puedo paraaar!” (“I’m Argentinian, it’s a feeling, I can’t stop!” Barely minutes after Montiel’s victorious shot on goal, songs, firecrackers, horn concerts, disputed the sound space of the capital Buenos Aires in the afternoon.

French disappointment
On the other hand, the immense hope of a third star turned into huge disappointment for French supporters on Sunday, after the final of the World Cup-2022.
On the Champs-Elysées, the usual meeting place for football parties, several thousand people had braved the cold and the drizzle to follow the match on their mobile phones.
Some cheers and fireworks were heard during extra time, when French striker Kylian Mbappé equalized from the penalty spot. But the verdict of the penalties has reduced the fervor.
