This Monday around 6 p.m., a truck hit the back of a bus carrying children returning from a school trip. This vehicle itself crashed into another school bus from the same group.
According to initial information, the truck driver, an attendant and four children were slightly injured. Police and emergency services rushed to the scene, but there were no serious injuries. The truck driver and a child were taken to hospital for check-ups. Later, as the group was taken to a school in Kallo, three other children and an attendant were taken to hospital.
A group infected with Covid-19
The Dutch children were returning from a trip to London where they had been infected with Covid-19. These children aged 10 to 12 had to return to the Netherlands. A large number of children, already sick, are in shock at what happened. But the emergency services are also present in the emergency accommodation center on the Beveren side to provide the necessary support. The children also receive something to eat and drink.
One of the buses was no longer roadworthy. Replacement buses are currently being sought to take the children home to The Hague this evening.
