Around 8 p.m., an operation was launched on Vaartkom Square in Leuven. Help arrived en masse to find the traces of a young man who might have fallen into the water of the river below.
“We don’t know if he’s in the water,” said Marc Vranckx, the police spokesperson. “Searching hasn’t turned up anything so far.”
