Aston Martin F1 has announced that Sebastian Vettel will miss the opening round of the 2022 F1 World Championship this weekend in the Bahrain Grand Prix due to an infection with the new coronavirus.
Reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg has been appointed to replace Sebastian Vettel. For the first time, run the Aston Martin AMR22 in the first free practice of the F1 Bahrain GP.
Nico Hulkenberg, who was removed from Renault’s regular driver in 2019, will return to the grid at Racing Point to replace Lance Stroll and Sergio Perez, who were infected with the new coronavirus in 2020.
