Kuwait City: 308 foreigners arrested during raid in Mahaboola The inspection was led by Maj. Gen. Farraj al-Zubi, assistant undersecretary for public security at the interior ministry.
The arrested persons were handed over to the concerned department for legal action. Security checks have been resumed in various parts of the country following a while.
The inspection has been going on in different parts of the country for a week. Inspections were carried out in Jalib Al Shuyoukh, Farwaniya, Khaitan, Andalusia, Rabia, Ardia Industrial Area, Friday Market and Jabir Ahmad area.
The inspection of Jalib al-Shuyoukh was reportedly directed and supervised by Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
It is a joint inspection of various ministries. The checkpoints at the entrances to the roads are thoroughly checked for records. The Home Ministry has decided to hunt down and deport illegal immigrants who have been denied opportunities, including amnesty, several times.
There are more than 1.5 lakh illegal immigrants in the country. It is reported that the authorities are planning to grant amnesty once once more.
