SEEG deplores and condemns the violence against its staff, equipment and installations –

In a press release published Tuesday, the Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG) maintains that for some time, calls for hatred have been regularly launched in the local media and on discussion forums against its agents.

More serious, the company is indignant, “ some of our clients, driven by a biased reading of the context, no longer hesitate to take action: sequestered agents, ransacked premises, damaged rolling stock, etc. ».

« Such behavior is all the more shocking as it targets active employees serving the Gabonese population. Intolerance and the stigmatization of others remain scourges in our society: they must be fought and condemned as such, regardless of the identity of their perpetrators. », Regrets the company which claims to be experiencing difficulties in supplying water and electricity.

SEEG carries out a public service mission for water and electricity in Gabon on behalf of the State. The disruptions observed are attributable to a delay in the completion of structuring investments, specifies the company.

« In this difficult period, it seems incomprehensible and unacceptable that SEEG agents should be victims of such shameful actions as part of their mission. It is also to be deplored that these behaviors from another era extend to all users, particularly those who need our services the most. », laments the SEEG.

« Faced with this increase in violence, the General Management of the SEEG reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings each time it becomes aware of such actions, so that those responsible are punished commensurate with their actions. Public services and personnel must be respected! », Warns the company.
