The police are touring all the schools in Brussels and Walloon Brabant that were the subject of a bomb threat on Sunday. An evaluation will be made during the day, indicates Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement.
Several schools in Brussels and Walloon Brabant of the Wallonia-Brussels Education (WBE) network will remain closed this Monday morning followinga bomb threat fell on Sunday evening, announced the organizing authority this Monday. In total, some 10,000 students are affected by these closures, according to an estimate from WBE.
The police are touring all the establishments concerned and an assessment will be made during the day, specifies Cécile Marquette, deputy general director in charge of communication at Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement. WBE adds that the measure was decided “in strict compliance with the precautionary principle”. “We must not give in to panic”, says Cécile Marquette. “Many establishments have been affected by similar alerts in recent weeks.”
Schools are expected to remain closed all day Monday, but there is a good chance they will reopen Tuesday. The network’s website (www.wbe.be) will be regularly updated on Monday.
