Despite the deterioration of his personal life, Pennant’s career was revitalized by his move to Liverpool and his participation in the Champions League final with the team in 2007.
The match ended with a loss for the Reds, so the controversial player went on a trip with his girlfriend at the time, Jennifer Metcalfe, to Dubai, when his phone rang with a call that disturbed his life.
His sitter said, “Germain, I don’t know how to say it, but your dog killed Jennifer’s cat.”
Pennant elaborated a plan to cover up his dog’s crime, and said: “We had to organize a cleaning session at the highest level for the carpets, and we buried the cat away.”
After returning home, Pennant’s friend did not know what had happened, but rather posted signs in the neighborhood to search for the missing cat.
