The plastic bottle, on the contrary, is a real nest of bacteria which can be dangerous for our health. What are the dangers of the reusable bottle?
Researchers from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark have bad news for us: they have found several hundred chemical substances in water from reusable bottles. Unfortunately some could be harmful to our health. Can we tell you a little more? In fact, the bad students are the products intended to make the plastic more flexible and the release agents. In addition, they would have found Deet, a substance used in mosquito repellent sprays.
Finally, the Danish chemists would have detected more than 3000 substances derived from products used in dishwashers and more than 400 products from the plastic itself. As you can see, the results are hardly encouraging. In addition, putting them in the dishwasher would reinforce the harmful effects, because by wearing down the plastic, it would increase the release of soluble substances.
Inventory of products harmful to our health
First of all, know that even after an extra rinse, there are still more than 500 different chemicals in the water. More than a hundred would come from the plastic which constitutes a new bottle. Researchers at the University of Copenhagen point to the fact that only some of these substances are intentionally added to the formulation of plastics.
In fact, the questions relate above all to the other substances which are formed either during the production process or during the use of the bottle. In this case, the Deet could only be the result of the degradation of a substance used to make the plastic more flexible. Worrying isn’t it? Even if for the moment, we do not know much about the potentially dangerous nature of these substances, caution is in order.
