The 2024 edition of SIAM will address issues of resilience and sustainability of agricultural production systems with climate change
Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 16th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco “SIAM” will be organized from April 22 to 28, 2024 in Meknes under the theme “Climate and agriculture: For systems of sustainable and resilient production”.
In a global context marked by climate change, which impacts agricultural production, the availability of water resources and food security, the next edition of SIAM will focus on efforts to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change. for better resilience of the agricultural sector. In this regard, conferences organized during SIAM will mobilize renowned national and international experts and scientists. In addition, this edition will see the holding of the national agricultural research conference, a meeting which will shed light on the scientific and technological advances made as well as on the future strategy of agricultural research in support of the Generation Green strategy for the development of Moroccan agriculture, launched by His Majesty the King May God assist him in 2020 at the end of the Green Morocco Plan.
SIAM is now one of the largest global events dedicated to agriculture and stakeholders in the agricultural sector. In 2023, it welcomed more than 923,000 visitors, 1,400 exhibitors, 2,000 breeders and 70 participating countries.
Spain in the spotlight
Having one of the most important agriculture in Western Europe, Spain is welcomed as the guest country of honor for the 16th edition of SIAM.
The choice of Spain reflects the excellence of the ancestral relations which link Morocco to this country, the level and quality of cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural field.
This participation will offer participants and visitors the opportunity to discover and explore the richness and diversity of Spanish agriculture, as it paves the way for the prospecting and development of commercial partnerships and the promotion of investments in the agricultural sector. from either side.
A new SIAM Commissioner
Holding the position of General Commissioner of SIAM since 2006, Mr. Jaouad Chami has significantly contributed to the evolution of the Show since its creation, to make it one of the largest international agricultural events and a world reference in the agricultural sector. With the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests and the SIAM Association, it was able, thanks to the support and support of the various partners and stakeholders of SIAM, in making it, over the years, an unmissable meeting place for professionals in the agricultural sector, both nationally and internationally. Today, he is handing over the torch.
Mr. Kamal Hidane, Regional Director of Agriculture of Fez-Meknes will act as Commissioner for the preparation of this 16th edition.
