Silicon Valley CEO Captured for 1992 Murder

John Kevin Woodwardthe CEO of the job training company Readytechwas arrested over the weekend for a murder committed in 1992.

The 58-year-old man was apprehended at the jfk airport of New York from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The 58-year-old is accused of murdering Laurie Hots, a 25-year-old computer engineer, in 1992, explains the Justice Department.

Although he was tried for the crime in 1992 in two instances, he was found not guilty due to lack of evidence.

Laurie Hots was found dead on September 5, 1992 in her car in Mountain View near her job with the rope that was used to strangle her still around her neck.

His fingerprints were recorded on the interior windshield, so it was determined that he fought with the killer.

John Kevin Woodward was the prime suspect. Laurie Hots was the girlfriend of his roommate and the man had been openly jealous of her.

Woodward had no alibi and when asked by the boyfriend if he had murdered Hots, he asked what investigators knew about.

Detectives found the prints of John Kevin Woordward on the outside of Laurie Hots’ vehicle, but they couldn’t prove she had been inside.

Woodward went on to develop a successful career in Silicon Valleybecoming the CEO of Readytech.

Already in 2021, the authorities used new forensic techniques to analyze the rope used for the murder and managed to find the man’s DNA.
