Apple has quietly enriched its Podcasts app by adding new categories to it in the search tab. Nine in all have appeared today: mental health, relationships, personal development, diaries, entrepreneurship, documentary, family – parents, books and language learning.
Each category includes a ranking of podcasts and episodes. Apple took the opportunity to refresh the thumbnail visuals. Some categories get extra care, like Comedy which features a selection of podcasts chosen by Apple. Also new, US, Canadian, Australian and UK listeners are entitled to sections “Podcasts by language” with selections of shows grouped… by language, hey yes.
These changes and improvements are available in all versions of the Podcasts app.
