After days and days and days of rain, the drops will indeed take on a wintry character in places. Unfortunately, not the whole country will be affected. For the rest of the country, it will be – for a change – the national drache.

This evening, the minimum temperatures will be between 3 and 5 degrees in upper Belgium and between 4 and 7 degrees in other regions. But the weather should remain mostly dry. According to the IRM, it is during the day tomorrow that things will get worse: an area of rain coming from France will indeed quickly reach the entire territory.

And if the maximum temperatures will no longer exceed 5 or 6 degrees in the Ardennes, they will remain too high for the rain to turn into snow during the day.
Later, in the evening and early night, however, temperatures will continue to drop. “In the upper Ardennes, precipitation may even gradually take the form of melting snow,” explains the IRM. A trend confirmed this morning by Denis Collard, the RTBF Weather Manager, who announced that the first snowflakes were expected this Thursday.

For the rest of the country, however, many models simulate a cumulative rainfall of 25 to 50 mm in certain parts of the provinces of Hainaut, Namur and Luxembourg. The yellow alert for heavy rain is therefore still valid.
