Some Jif peanut butter products recalled for potential Salmonella contamination

J. M. Smucker Co. issued a voluntary recall of select Jif peanut butter products sold in the United States due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The recalled peanut butter was distributed nationwide in retail stores and other outlets. Recalled products include the products with lot codes 1274425 – 2140425. Lot codes are included alongside the best-if-used-by date.

If consumers have products matching the above lot code numbers in their possession, they are advised to dispose of them immediately.

The FDA reports there has been 14 reported
cases of illness, including one case in New York. Two people have had to be
hospitalized.
