Some politicians dislike

Valchetta

I was carefully reading some brief reflections of my friend Roberto Cancio and I couldn’t help but agree with him, as almost always. The experience that counts is the following:

“Lately I have been getting to know other provinces. Out of curiosity and to know what it is about, I look at the statues, the churches, the museums and everything that implies recognition expressed in plaques, mostly bronze, to the works and deeds of those who have left traces of their contributions to the good of our country.”

“But for some time now I have seen that when homage is paid to someone referred to in the previous paragraph, unlike what happened in the past, when the name of the honoring institution was expressed, without specifying, now I have seen several plaques in which at the bottom of them it reads with large letters, to highlight, “management of so-and-so or so-and-so”.

“I dislike this desire to appear, this display of egomania, and of course I have the question of whether the tribute was sincere or was simply an excuse to be in bronze.”

Many times when observing machinery, posters, “banners” (I don’t like that word now so fashionable in all kinds of events, exhibitors, for example), which in prominent letters says “management” adding the name and surname of the official in question , I thought exactly the same as my friend: “Vanity of vanities” said the Preacher.

Although they swear on the Holy Gospels, I think they do not comply with the Christian mandate that says that what “your right hand does, your left hand does not know.” And more when it is not with their money but at the expense of the public treasury, that is, of the taxpayers.

But there are honorable caveats. Those who visit Valcheta will see, for example, the watering truck painted with little birds and flowers. I like it a lot better.
