No, Thierry Lhermitte is not sick, he thanks you. The actor made things clear this Sunday in an interview with Parisian.
The rumor had started from a France Inter radio program on health in which Thierry Lhermitte, sponsor of a Foundation for medical research, intervenes every month. Listeners had believed that the actor suffered from a disease called prosopagnosia, a neurological disorder that makes it difficult to recognize faces, both his own and those of others.
“A joke on a radio show, a photo in the scanner of a professor who explained to him the areas of the brain… It didn’t take more for some to be sure: Thierry Lhermitte’s commitment was due to his illness, prosopagnosia or amnesia of the faces”relates the Parisian, before the main interested party gives his version and denies it.
“I am not prosopagnosic, I am simply not a physiognomist, it can be very embarrassing but we are far from the disease”says Thierry Lhermitte.
The 69 actor adds that the president of an association, convinced of his illness, had contacted him in the past for help. “When I told her that I was not sick, the lady replied: ‘Yes, we all say that at the beginning…'”
