Song Young-gil “Lee Jae-myung, oppressed by the Wen government” vs.

On the 11th, when Song Young-gil, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said about presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung as “a person who was oppressed by the Moon Jae-in government,” a controversy arose within the party’s pro-municipal circles.

On the same day, CEO Song appeared on MBC’s ‘News Gaiden’ and said, “The Democratic Party leader has been replaced by Song Young-gil, and candidate Lee Jae-myung is a person who was oppressed by the Moon Jae-in government. Wasn’t he almost killed because he was indicted?” he asked, “(Lee) served as minister or what did he do?”

This is a reminder of the fact that candidate Lee was tried for violating the Public Official Election Act during the 2018 local elections in order to highlight the difference between Lee and the Moon Jae-in administration in the process of proposing solidarity to Ahn Cheol-su of the People’s Party.

Chairman Song also said, “Candidate Jae-myung Lee also creates a new regime.”

In response, Rep. Yoon Young-chan said on Facebook, “I am shocked by President Song Young-gil’s remarks that the Moon Jae-in government suppressed candidate Lee Jae-myung.

Rep. Yoon said, “I also served the president, but the president is not in the mood to oppress a specific person. He is a person who endures for the sake of the whole even if it is difficult for him,” he said.

Rep. Yoon, who served as Moon Jae-in’s chief of public communication at the Blue House, helped former President Lee Nak-yeon in the last presidential election.

After candidate Lee Jae-myung was finally confirmed in last year’s intra-party primary, Song made a claim to the effect that ‘Lee can also change the regime’ as if he was conscious of the high public opinion about regime change, but then met with resistance from his close friend Kang Seong.
