‘Splatoon 3’ gets a new 7-minute trailer showing an array of weapons

Nintendo has released a new seven-minute Japanese gameplay trailer for Splaton 3 ahead of the game’s release next month.

The latest trailer dives into everything: from Splaton 3 the stages players will compete on, the core abilities and mechanics of the third-person shooter, and the different modes, including single-player and the Salmon Run.

Team play sequences are also shown with two teams of four players competing against each other. The short preview features the end of game screen where each team’s total score is tallied up to reveal the winner.

New characters also appear in a variety of arenas ranging from factory-like environments, desert locations, a beach, and more. Weapons featured range from bows and arrows, a broom that acts as a sword, a shield that appears as an umbrella, a bubble gun, and an explosive trap.

Nintendo has even provided a preview of the game’s town where players can congregate. There is a shop to purchase weapons, clothing, and accessories, as well as a custom locker for the player that can also be customized.

It’s likely that Nintendo will release the same trailer in English this week, so we can work out the names of the newly revealed maps, locations, and weapons.

Splaton 3 is set to launch on September 9 on Nintendo Switch. The game will feature a single-player campaign at launch called Return of the Mammals, and it takes place in Alterna.

Right now, a demo is available for players and it looks like Nintendo is already banning players from hacking the game’s test range sooner than expected.
