Spring on canvas. The greatest works of Polish painters

Spring is one of the seasons in a temperate climate. March 21 is considered the first day of spring – it is the beginning of the so-called calendar spring. This regularity applies to the temperate climate of the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere, the equivalent of our March will be September, and the first day of spring will fall there around September 21-24.

Various days are considered to mark the beginning of spring; at least several dates can be distinguished. Some of them seem imprecise and barely visible to less experienced nature observers.

  • Meteorological spring falls on March 1;

  • Astronomical spring – March 20;

  • Calendar spring – March 21;

  • Phenological spring – the beginning of the vegetation of some plant species and the flowering of snowdrops and crocuses;

  • Thermal spring – begins when the average daily air temperature is from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius.

Spring is the most beautiful time of the year for many. A time of new life, awakening nature. Spring has long been an inspiration for artists, especially for paintbrush masters. Which Polish painters showed spring most beautifully?
