Users Steam noticedthat the release dates for a number of games have changed. For example, on the page Starfield instead of 2023 now is listed “Coming out soon.” The same note appeared in Hogwarts Legacy, while earlier it was February 10. At Silksong previously stood TBA, now this mark “deciphered‘: not yet announced.
However, it is too early to sound the alarm. These changes are most likely related to the new Steam rules. As we remember, the developers banned from using jokes, own lyrics, and other non-canonical versions of date representations.
Valve warned that by January 1, 2023, all studios and companies should choose one of the format options. And for those who forgot to do this, this line automatically changes to the “Coming soon” option. Most likely, this is exactly what happened with a number of upcoming projects. Now the developers have to make changes on the pages of their games.
