Stocks in Colombia also react after first round results

In addition to the downward effect on the dollar, the results of the first round of the presidential elections in Colombia are also being felt in the stock market.

The Colombian Stock Exchange (BVC) recorded an upturn in most of the securities traded there since the early hours of this Tuesday.

Around 2:50 in the afternoon, the MSCI Colcap, an indicator that reflects the variations in the prices of the 20 issuers and the 25 most liquid shares of the BVC, reflected 1,082.90 points, for a growth of 3.51%.

In the meantime, the Cementos Argos share was trading at $5,450, a rise of 9.02%the largest among all titles.

Also noteworthy were the increases in shares of Enka (8.52%, to $22.80) and Ecopetrol (7.14%, to $3,213), among others.

Total, more than 25 actions showed a positive behaviorwhile only three observed losses, among them that of Grupo Nutresa from Antioquia (-8.84%).

According to several analysts, this rebound is due to the surprising presence of Rodolfo Hernández in the second electoral round.

One of them, Alberto Bernal, head of Global Strategy XP Securities, assured that even this streak extended to the New York market, where Ecopetrol’s stock gained ground.

The title (ADR) of the oil company was trading at US$16.98, with a rise of 10.91%.
