Fallen trees on A8 ++ train has to make full brake ++ the pictures and videos
As announced, a storm is currently raging over Lucerne and all of Central Switzerland. These are the first pictures and videos.
Shortly before nine o’clock the time had come: the rain poured down over Lucerne – and a few lightning bolts. MeteoNews Switzerland even speaks on Twitter of “real fireworks” in north-western and central Switzerland. The federal government had already issued a warning after noon and increased the probability of severe storms to the highest red level in large parts of the country.

According to “Blick”, there were also dangerous situations. A train in Lucerne had to put on an emergency brake. A reader reporter reports of a tree falling on the tracks. The incident happened according to “Blick” in the Seefeld district. There were no injuries.
Meanwhile, on Langensandstrasse in Lucerne, an old district fir tree has been knocked down, as reported by 20 minutes. Buses would therefore no longer run. The Lucerne police confirmed at the request of PilatusToday and Tele 1 several calls because of the thunderstorm. No further details can be announced yet.

The storm also caused various damage to houses and cars in Sempach Station and the city of Lucerne.
After 9:15 p.m., the situation calmed down a bit again – but it still rained afterwards
Things are a bit different in the canton of Zug. It was probably just getting started there at that point. “Today 9:15 p.m. between Cham-Rotkreuz,” writes a reader of this video. The storm in Central Switzerland hit her directly on the way home.

Driving on the A8 is also dangerous at the moment: from Sarnen in the direction of Brienz there is a danger between Kaiserstuhl and Lungern-Nord due to fallen trees. It is similar between Alpnach-Süd and Alpnach-Nord on the A8 Sarnen in the direction of Hergiswil, as the Viasuisse traffic information service writes.
