Sudan: artists engaged in the sights of the junta

When the revolution breaks out in Sudan in 2019, paintings appear to praise democracy and freedom. They marked the younger generation following decades of censorship under Omar al-Bashir. And the artists have remained mobilized to express their thirst for freedom following the October 2021 coup. They fight peacefully, between demonstrations in the streets of Khartoum and artistic creations. Committed artists are repressed by the junta of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane.
