“Sustainability policies are an investment, not an expense”

L’Association of Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurs of Girona (AEEG) organizes a Thursday morning one webinar-breakfast on environmental and social sustainability from the hand of the IDD consulting. It is a virtual event, but in which all registrants will receive in their office, a breakfast.

Jaume Tomàs, CEO of the consultancy IDD Innovación y Desarrollo Directivo, explains that in recent times there has been an acceleration in business awareness that “sustainability policies need to be applied, not as a matter of fashion or image, but as a necessity “. “Committing to implementing sustainability policies is an investment, not an expense,” he added.

In his view, companies are beginning to see that if they incorporate a good sustainability strategy they can improve their results and grow more than their competitors. “Sustainability must be seen as an opportunity rather than a threat. The danger to survival, also to business survival, lies in what is unsustainable, and we are seeing this for example with European funds that they are coming “.

Tomàs explains that from IDD they are helping to make the transition to many companies, both in terms of management and the entire workforce. That is why they offer different training packages.

The IDD director links the boom in sustainability and the circular economy to the growing concern on the part of society and administrations for the problems arising from the climate crisis. “More and more companies have taken it on, but this awareness needs to reach all organizations,” concludes Tomàs.
