Sweden and Finland must clearly show solidarity with Turkey

“As long as Sweden and Finland do not clearly show solidarity with Turkey, we will not be in favor of their joining NATO,” said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Erdogan and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed Sweden’s and Finland’s application for NATO membership on the phone on Saturday.

“As long as Sweden and Finland do not clearly show solidarity with Turkey, we will not be in favor of their joining NATO,” he insisted.

Separately, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Turkey’s security concerns must be addressed.
