An increase in cases of coronavirus infection witnessed in Egypt during the past days due to the new Omicron mutant, and the symptoms that appear on the infected are a rise in body temperature for a period of 24 to 48 hours and it reaches above 38.6 degrees Celsius with sore throat.
Hossam Hosni, head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona at the Ministry of Health, said that the patient must isolate the home and visit the doctor without waiting for the remaining symptoms of cracking in the body, excessive sleep and continuous coughing.
He explained that the new mutant attacks the upper respiratory system and that its proliferation rate inside the cell is 70 times more than any other mutant, and that the spread is 8 times more than any other mutant, and he called for preventive measures, wearing a muzzle, and the need to obtain the specified doses of the Corona vaccine and its stimulating doses.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, said that the majority of the infected have simple symptoms similar to the common cold, and the full treatment doses must be taken so as not to cause any complications.
