Taichi Fukui, a former member of Sagan Tosu’s youth team and a member of Bayern Munich’s second team, made his first team debut in the first round of the DFB Pokal (German Domestic Cup) on the 26th. However, negative comments about Fukui have been aroused on social media.

Fukui, who made his debut with Tosu’s first team at the young age of 16 years and 7 months, permanently transferred from Tosu to Bayern in January of this year. While accompanying Bayern’s second team, he played in 12 games in the German fourth division in the 2022/23 season. He has been a constant starter in the midfield so far this season, and was on the bench for the first team for the first time on the 15th of this month against Bayer Leverkusen in Round 4 of the Bundesliga.

Fukui was placed on the bench again in the DFB Pokal match against Prussia Munster (Germany’s 4th division) and came on in place of midfielder Joshua Kimmich in the 63rd minute. He played in the midfield anchor position and did not allow the opponent to counterattack.

While there were many cheers on X (formerly Twitter) for the player’s debut with the first team, a post by a certain SNS user that read, “He was placed on the bench due to a match against Leverkusen” became a hot topic.

After the screenshot went viral, people criticized it one after another, saying things like, “Don’t slander Fukui-kun,” “Do you hate Japanese people that much?” and “It’s really embarrassing that Japanese people are the ones who underestimate Japanese people the most.” I’m here.
