Taiwan added 68,965 new confirmed cases of new crown
Xinhua News Agency, Taipei, June 15. The Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced on the 15th that there were 68,965 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia, including 68,939 local cases and 26 imported cases. Since the beginning of this year, the cumulative number of local confirmed cases in Taiwan has exceeded 3 million.
The command center stated that the new local cases were 33,178 males, 35,736 females, and 25 under investigation, ranging in age from under 5 years old to over 90 years old. In the distribution of local cases, Taichung and Kaohsiung both added more than 10,000 cases.
The command center said there were 143 new deaths that day, including 82 males and 61 females, ranging in age from their 30s to their 90s. There were 392 new cases of moderate and severe cases on the same day, including 5 cases of severe cases in children and adolescents.
It is worth noting that 3 of the above-mentioned severe cases in children and adolescents belonged to the multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), and a 13-year-old boy was the first adolescent MIS-C case. There are currently 11 cases of MIS-C among children and adolescents in Taiwan.
In addition, the command center announced another 26 cases of imported cases of BA.4 and BA.5 variants of Omicron subtypes intercepted at the border, 16 males and 10 females, respectively. The entry days were between May 30 and June. 5th.
Statistics show that as of now, there have been 3,072,432 confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Taiwan, including 3,058,818 local cases.
