Health care, medical homes and nature protection associations were already exempted in the text examined in the House last week. In particular, there remained the delicate question of teaching. Several amendments were introduced last Thursday, and the text was sent to the Council of State for urgent examination. The majority’s objective is to have it passed before the end of the year.

According to our sources, an agreement was reached in Kern this Wednesday afternoon to exempt a series of additional sectors, namely sports, education, culture, animal shelters and private archive centers.

The new text with its new amendments should be submitted to votes in committee this Thursday morning, then in the plenary session of the House immediately in the afternoon.

In opposition, the Engagés reiterated their determination to fight against the new system for taxing the assets of non-profit organizations if new exemptions did not see the light of day, particularly for education. “The text induces unacceptable discrimination by penalizing free education compared to official education. The same goes for non-profit organizations which carry out important missions, whether in culture, sport or animal shelters. “Increase in taxes on these associations is unfair and incomprehensible,” group leader Catherine Fonck underlined during the plenary session.
