Erik Dilevs, the former head of the Latvian branch of the Baltic joint venture RB Rail, was appointed temporary chairman of the board of LLC Eiropas dzelzceļa līnijas (EDzL), responsible for the Rail Baltica railway project in Latvia, the Ministry of Transport told LETA.
Dilevs will serve as interim chairman of the board from Friday until a new chairman is appointed, who will be selected through a competitive process.
Dilevs has more than 18 years of experience in the transport industry, including working for RB Rail since 2018. Since the beginning of 2023, Dilevs has been the head of the Latvian branch of RB Rail and is responsible for managing the branch team, strategic planning and cooperation with project stakeholders.
Before joining the Rail Baltica project team, Dilevs worked on international projects in the UK, UAE and Latvia for more than five years.
It has already been reported that on April 26 of this year, the Ministry of Transport received a letter of resignation from the former chairman of the board of EDzL Kaspars Vingris and board member Arnis Staltmanis.
