Ten Hag and Rashford rewarded despite humiliation against Liverpool

Five days after a monumental slap received in the England derby against Liverpool (0-7), Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag and his striker Marcus Rashford received the title of coach and player of the month for February.

Timing sometimes hurts things. This Friday, the Premier League announced the winners of the Coach and Player of the Month awards for February. Erik ten Hag and Marcus Rashford are quite logically rewarded, even if these titles come just days after a historic humiliation suffered by Manchester United against Liverpool (0-7), which was therefore held in March.

In February, the Red Devils had signed three victories in four league games in the Premier League (1 draw), not to mention a victory in the League Cup and a qualification for the Europa League against FC Barcelona (2-2, 2-1).

MU smiles again after the slap

Despite the slap in the face of Anfield, Manchester United is still comfortably third in the Premier League, four points ahead and one game less than Tottenham. And the Mancunian club recovered quickly, with a convincing success over Betis Sevilla in the round of 16 first leg of C3 this Thursday evening (4-1).

Marcus Rashford, author of 7 goals and 4 assists in all competitions in February, is titled for the third time this season after September and January last, when he had already been crowned in January 2019. For his part, Erik ten Hag receives this honor for the second time in the Premier League, having also been awarded in September.
